May 11: International Migratory Bird Day

The UN General Assembly created International Migratory Bird Day to allow local, national and international governments, as well as the general public, to organize events around the need to protect these birds and their habitats. Some of the objectives of the day are to gain attention, raise awareness and mobilize resources to meet sustainable development goals.

International, an NGO which works closely with the United Nations, participates in the GENEVA FORUM in order to support the research and knowledge regarding the importance of migration. Because of human activities, this has become a true hardship for these birds.
